The Committee of Experts working on constitutional changes should submit their amendments to President Adly Mansour by Tuesday, committee member and judge Ali Awad told state-owned Al-Ahram.
Awad said the ten-man-committee finished amending 130 articles of the 2012 constitution, and still have 106 left to address.
The first three articles of the 2012 constitution will remain untouched, Awad said, adding that article 219 regarding “Islamic Sharia explanations” is still under consideration from the committee.
The committee was formed by the interim president after his appointment on 3 July in order to suggest amendments to the 2012 constitution. Its work will be followed by another 50-member committee from several political and social fronts.
