The African Union (AU) High Level Panel for Egypt returned to the country on Tuesday and is expected to meet Minister of Foreign Affairs Nabil Fahmy on Wednesday.
The delegation is returning to Egypt having presented its ‘progress report’ to the AU Peace and Security Council, outlining its findings during a previous visit that began at the end of July and lasted for eight days.
The delegation, led by former President Alpha Oumar Konare of Mali, arrived from the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa earlier on Monday and is expected to meet with a variety of political stakeholders in Egypt, reported state-run news agency MENA.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that Fahmy would hold a press conference on Wednesday afternoon following his meeting with the AU panel.
