“The interim government is focusing on three main points: implementing the government’s stimulus plan,  allowing people to contribute by suggesting a strategy plan and depending on civil society initiatives to develop the society,” said Minister of Planning Ashraf El-Araby in a meeting with Tamarod leaders last Tuesday, according to a press release.

“The future plans must belong to the people not governments, and that requires citizens’ participation in the preparation and following-up the implementation of the plan,” stated  El-Araby, pointing that the government is receiving many initiatives from the “youth of the revolution.”

El-Araby suggested holding a monthly meeting with members of Tamarod to discuss the main problems and follow up with the  implementation of the projects. He also called on them to hold meetings with the governors and ministers to suggest projects to each ministry.

According to the press release, El-Araby said that government plans will be posted on the official Ministry of Planning website in order to give people the right to monitor on government projects.

However, Khaled El-Kady, the coordinator of Tamarod in Alexandria, stressed on the importance of solving the problem of factories that were closed because of the bankruptcy of their owners.

Other members of Tamarod called on the importance of achieving the social justice principle through determining a minimum and maximum wage policy. They also urged the development of  the Suez Canal and establishment of projects to employ the Suez youth.
