Al-Ahly SC handball team qualified for the quarter-final of the African Handball Champions League held in Morocco.
The team’s first game, held on Friday, was against Libyan team Al-Ittihad. Al-Ahly won 29-19.
In the second game against Moroccan team Wydad Casablanca on their home ground on Saturday, the Egyptians exhibited their intentions for winning the title, and won 25-21.
The team coached by Assem Hammad proved that winning is a habit, and went on to defeat Tunisian powerhouses Club Africain, 22-21 on Monday.
The team will meet FAP Yaoundé from Cameroon on their final group stage match.
Egyptian teams won this championship 12 times, seven by Zamalek SC, four by Al-Ahly and one by Al-Masry Port Said.
The team to win the most championships is Mouloudia d’Alger, with 11 titles under its belt.
