Minister of Foreign Affairs Nabil Fahmy met a Kuwaiti media delegation on Tuesday morning, a statement by the ministry read.

The delegation included Editor-in-Chief of Al-Seyasa newspaper Ahmed Al-Jarallah, Editor-in-Chief of Al-Khaleej Times newspaper Ahmed Behbehani and Managing Editor of Al-Anba’a newspaper Youssef Khaled Marzouk.

According to the statement, the meeting discussed the Arab-African summit, which will be held in Kuwait on 19 November for two days. The summit will discuss increasing the economic cooperation between the Arab world and Africa.

The meeting also discussed “the issues that the Egyptian policy prioritise after the 30 June Revolution”.

The meeting comes after interim President Adly Mansour met with Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah on 30 October in Kuwait to discuss strengthening relations between Egypt and the Gulf state.

Earlier that month, Prime Minister Hazem El-Beblawi said in a televised interview on 20 October that Kuwait will allow Egypt a five year period rather than the initial one year to return the $2bn deposit it has given the cash-strapped government.

Relations between the two countries continue to flourish after the ousting of former President Mohamed Morsi on 3 July 2013.
