Egyptian Weightlifter Mohamed Ihsan claimed the Gold medal during the +105 kg competition in the President’s Cup on Saturday. The championship was held in Moscow, Russia from 21 to 23 November.
Ihsan lifted a total of 421 kg, one kilogram clear of second-placed Russian Gennady Muratov. Ukrainian Oleg Proshak claimed third place with 415 kg.
In the 94 kg competition, Egyptian Abdel Hay Ragab was 5 kg short from first place. Russian lifter Rasulov Ramazan lifted a total of 373 kg while Ragab lifted 368 kg. Third place was claimed by Russian Rinat Kireev.
The Russians dominated the championship held on their own soil, grabbing a total of six medals in men’s competitions.
