The Public Prosecution in Suez decided on Thursday to extend the detention of five Muslim Brotherhood leaders for 15 days pending investigation into charges of inciting and participating in violence in the governorate, according to state owned Al-Ahram.
A source speaking to Al-Ahram said three of defendants are prominent employees of the Egyptian National Gas Company (GASCO), while the company also employs the remaining two.
Suez saw some of the worst of the nationwide violence last Friday resulting in the death of a 10 year-old child. The child was shot dead during clashes between supporters of former President Mohamed Morsi and residents of the Awal Al-Soor district in Suez.
