The Anti-Coup Alliance, a coalition of group supporting ousted president Mohamed Morsi, announced that Friday would hold a “million man march” in solidarity with “university students attacked this week”.
The location of the protests is still unknown, but different reports claim that roads leading to the presidential palace in Heliopolis and Tahrir Square are closed down in anticipation of the marches.
In past weeks, Friday protests have generally commenced after noon prayers.
The Anti-Coup Alliance encouraged the students in statement to continue their “revolution against the coup” saying that despite the loss of “210 student lives in the struggle” they are now the leaders of the revolution.
