Ismaily at the forefront of Egyptian league Group B

The fourth round of Group B in the Egyptian Premier League on Tuesday saw leaders Al-Ismaily draw with Etihad Al-Shorta with Al-Zamalek SC going back to its winning ways after beating Tala’eAl-Geish.

Despite the 0-0 draw, Al-Ismaily held their lead with 10 points, three points over runner-up PetroJet. The Dervishes have not lost one game since the start of the league, beating powerhouse Zamalek in the process.

Zamalek beat Tala’e Al-Geish 1-0 in their second win of the league. Left-back Mohamed Abdel Shafi landed a free-kick cross past goalkeeper Mohamed Basem, pushing the “White Knights” to third place and preventing Al-Geish from advancing above seventh.

Other Tuesday games in Group B finished with Minya losing toAl-Qanah 0-1. Struggling in last place was Haras Al-Hodoud’s, whose troubles continued after tying with Telephonat BeniSuef.

Al-Ahly SC lead Group A with six points albeit having only played two games. They are set to play their third game on Thursday against another league heavyweight, fifth place ENPPI. Other Group A games will pit Ittihad Al-Sakandary against Al-Entag Al-Harby and runners up Al-Maqassa against Dakhleya.
