An improvised explosive device (IED) detonated in the early hours of Saturday at Tore’at Al-Zomor Street in the Omraneya neighborhood in Giza, as confirmed by Ministry of Interior spokesman Hany Abdel Latif.
Abdel Latif added that the bomb resulted in no casualties or damages.
The explosion took place a week after four bombs targeted police and other facilities in greater Cairo, including the Cairo Security Directorate. The militant group Ansar Beit Al-Maqdis has taken responsibility for these bombings.
