Multi-channel Middle East and North Africa (MENA) network Kharabeesh has successfully obtained a YouTube certification, the network stated Wednesday.
According to Kharabeesh, it is the first multi-channel network in MENA to obtain the certification.
“Many can still remember how Arabic online content was once poor and scattered. After years of building its content direction and audience base, Kharabeesh now has what it takes to boost Arabic content in ways we have always envisioned,” CEO of Kharabeesh Mohamed Asfour said.
“We are quickly becoming the number one destination for Arab online content creators who want to grow their reach and maximise their revenues online,” Asfour added.
The online entertainment network, which serves Arab internet users around the world and has registered around 600m views on YouTube, stated that five staff members completed a series of courses with YouTube prior to passing a certification test.
Chief business development officer at Kharabeesh Firas Al Otaibi pointed out that the network aims to capitalise on its success and understanding of the Arab audience. He mentioned that with the new certification, the network aims to “venture into new frontiers by empowering other businesses in the online Arab content scene”.
YouTube certification is an educational training programme provided by YouTube’s owner, Google. The programme offers an opportunity for social media and online professionals to enhance their skills in Youtube channel management.
