Housing Ministry offers 1,496 plots of industrial land

The Ministry of Housing will offer 1,496 pieces of land for industrial activities, storage, and youth workshops through a public lottery over the coming days, with areas ranging from 300-6,000 square metres under a usufruct or sale system.

Minister of Housing Mostafa Madbouly said in a statement yesterday that the land offered will be distributed over 15 cities across the nation, and the ministry hopes for the land to meet the needs of various demographics and achieve diverse uses, in accordance with development plans.

Vice President of the Urban Communities Authority Magdy Farhat said that the land will be distributed as follows: 135 plots in 6th of October City, 27 of which are allotted for industrial use, 55 for storage, and 53 for workshops. Borg El Arab will receive 111 plots for industrial purposes, and 383 plots will be available in 10th of Ramadan, including 340 for industrial purposes and 43 for storage. Beni Suef will receive 105 plots, 100 for industrial activities and 5 for workshops. There will be 83 industrial plots available north of the Gulf of Suez, 15 industrial plots in Obour City, and 17 plots in Shorouk City, 14 of which are for youth workshops and 3 for storage.

Farhat added that 27 plots will be offered in Fayoum, 14 for industry and 13 for storage. There will be 263 plots available in Thebes, 54 for industrial activities, 18 for storage, and 191 for youth workshops. Nineteen industrial plots will be available in 15th of May City. 84 plots will be available in Minya, one industrial, 7 for storage, and 76 for workshops, while Assiut will have 144 plots, 79 industrial, 14 for storage, and 51 workshops. Salehia will have 53 plots, 33 industrial, and 53 for storage. There will be 18 plots for storage in Sohag and 6 in Cairo, 4 for industrial activities and 2 for youth workshops.

Farhat confirmed that approval from the General Authority for Industrial Development is required before requests are submitted by the Chairman of the concerned body, and the bid requirements must also be obtained from the body’s headquarters. The date of the lottery will be announced after submission is completed.
