Starting Sunday, for the first time since January 2011, investors will be allowed to withdraw applications for obtaining 1,272 land plots to establish industrial projects, in coordination with the New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA), the Industrial Development Authority (IDA) announced Saturday.

The withdrawal of applications will last for one month, after which the IDA will accept applications from 24 August to 25 September, head of the IDA Ismail Gaber said.

Following IDA approval, the investor will be asked to apply to NUCA to complete all the procedures of obtaining the land, Gaber added.

In a Saturday statement, Gaber said that the tender aims to boost investments and industrial development and also support local manufacturing through offering developed lands at different sizes.

Gaber said that 30% of these lands will be allocated for small industries and youth projects in efforts to support this sector.

The lands are located in the areas of 6th of October, 10th of Ramadan, New Cairo, Al-Obour and Al-Shourouk in Cairo as well as in Borg El-Arab in Alexandria, New Beni Suef and Northern of Gulf of Suez along with other regions.
