Shoukry meets with Omani Foreign Minister

Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry met with his Omani counterpart Yousef Bin Elwy on Friday to discuss challenges facing the Arab world.

The talks came “in light of the mutual keenness to conduct the first direct meeting between the two ministers”, said a Saturday night foreign ministry statement. They reflect the common interests between the two countries and the two ministers “at this important stage”.

The two ministers discussed their countries’ relations in all fields and the means to enhance them.

They also discussed the Palestinian issue and conflict in Syria, as well as the situation in Iraq and the formation of its new government.

They touched on developments of the political and security situations in Libya.

Shoukry and Bin Elwy talked about the issues that will be discussed in the coming Arab foreign ministers meeting.
