An armed forces aircraft crashed in Fayoum, leaving six dead and one injured Sunday, according to a press release issued by the armed forces.
The statement read that the crash was due to a “technical malfunction”.
Minister of Defence Sedki Sobhi stated that a committee will be formed to look into the reasons that led to the crash.
Earlier this year, a military helicopter crashed in Al-Shallaq near Sheikh Zuweid in North Sinai leaving the crew unharmed, though it was hit by RPG which caused it to catch on fire.
Last year, a military aircraft crashed near Luxor due to a technical malfunction as well, leaving one person dead and three injured.
