Four people, including one policeman, were killed and eight were injured when train line number 858, which leads to Egypt’s Menufiya governorate, crashed after a bomb explosion on Thursday night, Egyptian state media reported.
The explosion did not affect train lines as the train continued on its path and only the last cart was removed, state media said.
Head of the Menufiya security directorate commented on the incident saying that the bomb was planted in the last seat in the last car of the train.
State media also reported security forces finding a bomb outside the presidential palace this morning.
Small bomb explosions have become a frequent occurrence over the past months in Egypt.
