The European Conference of Arab Horse Organizations (ECAHO) organised a B-Show in Al-Zahraa Stud at Cairo last week, as a part of the 16th International Arabian Horse Championships. The show is one of the “qualifiers” for major international shows (A-shows).
Out of 400 participating horses, Prince Saud Bin Sultan Bin Saud Al-Saud’s Horse of Al-Mamlaka Stud won Stallions Gold Champion award.
Egypt was one of five founding members of the World Arabian Horse Organisation. Many of the purest Arabian horses are known to have been imported from the Bedouins of the Arabian peninsula to the country at the beginning of the 19th century by Mohammed Ali, founder of modern Egypt, according to the show’s press release.
