Around 500 to 600sqkm is expected to become available for projects in the Suez Canal Development Project, director of operations at Dar Al-Handasah Yehia Zaki said Tuesday.
“This is a huge area for projects and investments,” Zaki added.
Zaki stated that Dar Al-Handasah is still in talks with the government to finalise the exact space specified for projects.
“We have a very aggressive team and we have utilised our London office to work on the project with us,” he said.
The master plan will be finalised by the end of February and will be presented during the Economic Summit in March to be held in Sharm El-Sheikh, Zaki noted.
He clarified that “the master plan tackles the area around the canal”, including Ismailia, Suez and Port Said.
“Port Said has a port that is very promising,” Zaki said.
The areas affected by the Suez Canal Development Project mainly include six ports, East Port Said Port, West Port Said Port, Al-Arish Port, Al-Adabeya Port, Ain Sokhna and the recently added Al-Toor Port.
