Explosions in North Sinai killed at least 25 people and injured 36 more after a car bomb targeted the army’s 101 battalion headquarters, state media reported through a health ministry official based in Sinai on Thursday night

Meanwhile bomb explosions also targeted the North Sinai Security Directorate.

The state-owned Al-Ahram newspaper’s Sinai building suffered some damages due to its close proximity to the directorate, the newspaper’s manager Ahmed Selim told state media.

Fighting between North Sinai militants and military and police forces has been a common occurrence over the past year.
