Huawei’s total gross profit for consumer business has increased by 30% during 2014 compared to 2013, reaching $12.2bn. Sales for 2014 increased by 7.8%, totalling 138m devices in 2014, including 75m smart phones, which is a 45% annual increase.
Medium capacity smart phones grew by 18%, according to the company’s financial indicators in 2014. Huawei P7 phone sales reached 4m units in only six months from its launch in Paris in May, while Huawei Mate7 model made positive growth rates in all markets. Sales of the latter were more than 2m pieces in the three months since it was launched in September.
Financial indicators showed that e-commerce helped in mobile sales growth by 41%, as well as the traditional distribution channels that reached 630 shops worldwide.
Huawei offers its mobile phones in 170 countries, serving one-third of the world’s population; in 2014, Huawei’s mobile phones ranked third globally.
