55 students receive Edexcel High Achievers award

Pearson in collaboration with the British Council handed 55 students the Edexcel High Achievers award on Tuesday for their outstanding achievements in higher education.

Awards were presented to students who obtained a minimum of 7A grades in International GCSE in one sitting, and obtained ‘world highest’ marks in individual subjects. Held at the Four Seasons hotel in Garden City, Cairo, the event was attended by 250 students, parents, teachers, and heads or owners of schools and universities.

Vice president of Pearson Qualifications International, Seetha Kumar, told Daily News Egypt that it is an “inspiring and motivating” event that celebrates the success of human endeavour.

Kumar emphasised the importance of education since Pearson’s slogan is ‘Always learning’ and the difference that education provides in a society. “Education changes lives, education changes countries”, she said.

With around 40,000 employees worldwide, Pearson is considered a world leading education company and has branches in more than 70 countries. It combines 150 years of experience in education and publishing with the latest learning technology.
