British ambassador John Casson announced Wednesday a collaboration to strengthen parliamentary relations between Britain and Egypt, especially in the field of training.
He expressed his country’s readiness to support the Egyptian parliament, reported state-owned newspaper Al-Ahram.
Details of the cooperation in training is pending the issuance of the Supreme Constitutional Court decision on the appeals filed against the parliamentary election law.
Training will take place in Egypt, especially as the time is tight with the approach of the parliament, Al-Ahram said.
The Supreme Constitutional Court (SCC) postponed Wednesday its final verdict regarding lawsuits claiming the unconstitutionality of the parliamentary elections law to Sunday.
Casson expressed Britain’s support for the current Egyptian policies, and the Economic Summit to take place in March in Sharm El-Sheikh.
