The man with a “dangerous criminal record” fired at the policemen with a shotgun, state-run Al-Ahram reported.

The fire fight resulted in the injuring of a policeman and killing of the armed assailant, who died on the way to hospital.

The Giza Security Investigations unit stated that the killed man had a criminal record of thuggery and theft.
