The Arabian Organisation for Social Responsibility awarded Banque Misr with the Golden Excellence Award and Certificate of Excellence in corporate social responsibility (CSR), in recognition of its achievements in this field.

Banque Misr is keen to make overall development and welfare programmes one of its main goals, creating added-value to help in the development of Egyptian society.

The Banque Misr Foundation for Development and Welfare has participated in development projects in villages and slums in Egypt. It has so far done work in approximately 15 villages to improve the quality of life for residents in these areas.

This is achieved through developing the level of education and health services, improving the infrastructure of uninhabitable homes, and implementing medical convoys to serve about 5,000 villagers. It has also worked on 1,200 economic projects for youth and women who are breadwinners, whilst also participating in the development of two youth centres in Upper Egypt.
