Chinese car sales in Egypt amount to EGP 280m in 1st 2 months 2015

Sales of Chinese cars in Egypt reached roughly EGP 280m during January and February of this year, representing 5.6% of total sales for the car market in Egypt, which reached EGP 5bn.

While the total automotive sales market sold 32,000 cars, 2,729 of these were Chinese cars, representing 8.5% of the cars sold in the Egyptian market.

The Speranza Tiggo headed the most sold Chinese cars in Egypt after its sales reached EGP 114m during January and February of 2015. Te Speranza Tiggo sold 950 cars, exceeding the Geely Emgrand 7, which was on the top of the list last year.

The Tiggo occupied 2.9% of the automotive market in Egypt, representing almost 34.8% of the Chinese market auto sales in Egypt.

Meanwhile, the Geely Emgrand 7 sales amounted to almost EGP 70m during the same period. It occupied second place after selling 802 cars. The third place was occupied by the Brilliance V5, whose sales amounted to EGP 40m after selling 254 cars.
