The market for American passenger cars in Egypt has reached sales at roughly EGP 582m during the first two months of 2015. These figures represent 11.4% of the total passenger car sales in Egypt during the same period, which was at over EGP 5bn.

American cars achieved sales of 4,396 cars of total market sales, amounting to 32,000 cars, with the American market representing 13.6% of total passenger cars sold in Egypt.

The Chevrolet Lanos topped the list of the most sold American cars in Egypt, reaching sales at EGP 127m in January and February, selling more than 1,629 cars, as Lanos is considered the cheapest American car in Egypt.

Lanos represents 5% of the passenger car market in Egypt, which represents nearly 37% of the market share in Egypt.

Chevrolet Aveo sales were at EGP 167m during the same period, occupying the second place by selling 1,610 cars, while the Ford Focus was in the third place on the list, with sales at EGP 82m, and 391 sold cars.
