Sinai-based militants, “State of Sinai”, released a video Tuesday threatening security personnel and army collaborators.

The video arrived two days after North Sinai tribes gathered Sundayat a conference and announced their stance against the armed group and their support of the Egyptian state and the armed forces.

Among the tribes that took part in the conference were the prominent Al-Tarabeen and Al-Sawarka tribes.
The video features armed militants seemingly conducting operations targeting security personnel.

The group regularly releases similar propaganda videos. A number of them feature the decapitation of North Sinai residents for being “army informers” and the killing of security personnel.

Insurgency attacks by the militants have been on the rise since the ouster of former president Mohamed Morsi in July 2013.
The armed forces are engaged in a war with “Islamic State” affiliates in North Sinai. Each party seeks the elimination of the other.
