Qatar’s Al-Attiyah wins Irani Shiraz Rally

The third place was for Emirati Sheikh Khalid Al-Qasimi, against British racer Chris Paterson with a difference of 1:03.7 minutes from Al-Attiyah.

The first day of the rally was a highly competitive one between Al-Attiyah and Al-Kuwari, where the latter won with a difference of 36.4 seconds. The first six rounds of the race ended with Al-Kuwari’s win over Al-Attiyah, with 18 seconds difference.

In the later rounds of the race, the race was in favour of Al-Attiyah, who was in an advanced position in the rounds of the second day. In the final round, the racer was able to make an even better time against Al-Kuwari, with 27 seconds.

Al-Attiyah won, at the beginning of the year, the international Dakar Rally which is his second win after 2011. He also won the title of the international Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge, but the Ethics Committee of FIA withdrew the title from him.
