On a normal weekend, the choice of hanging out with your friends might take a long time in order to decide on an appropriate place to fulfil the variety of moods and interests. For steak or sushi lovers, One Oak is the right place to satisfy both tastes in people. The place is perfect for an amazing experience, for good food and service in a nice restaurant to relax and enjoy with loved ones.
The place is wide with ample space between tables, providing enough privacy and comfort with decor that is simultaneously simple and chic, all the while surrounding you with jazz music. However, the one uncomfortable thing is that the place doesn’t have its own restroom, and you have to walk a bit to use the main Tivoli restrooms.
The service there is among the best, offering complementary sweet chilli peas. Waiters are always nearby, making sure you’re enjoying your time. Taking little time to serve food, they will also let you choose your preferred steak knife as they serve your platter, making you feel special.
During a 9:00 pm visit for dinner, the place had only one table occupied, which made the service provided by the staff even more enjoyable and comfortable.
As for the food, the place has a huge variety of choices. For steak, we ordered Tournedos Rossini, medium cooked; a big piece of meat with amazing flavour, but that might get cold before you finish eating it. With just one side dish of fries, the platter needed more vegetables on it. It was also hard to ignore that the bread served with the meal was not as fresh as it should be.
As for sushi, One Oak has everything that a sushi lover could need, with an amazing variety of all sushi types. We ordered a combination platter with four nigiri, four crispy rolls and four Philadelphia rolls. The platter had enough variety and tasted incredibly amazing.
The price range could be considered quite expensive, as steak varies from EGP 100 to EGP 265, and sushi starts from EGP 9.5 to 24.5 per piece. At the end, we ordered two good main courses and two drinks with the bill amounting to EGP 300.
The overall experience was good. If you are an extreme sushi or steak lover, One Oak is definitely the perfect place.
