Russia presents newest aircraft to Egypt’s aviation minister

The Minister of Civil Aviation, Hossam Kamal, met Monday with the Russian Minister of Trade and Industry, Dennis Manturov, who is currently visiting Egypt.

Manturov has come to Egypt with a high level delegation of Russian officials, institutions and companies.

During the meeting, the Russian delegation presented the different capabilities of Russian institutions in the aviation sector. Kamal added that the Russian side also presented its latest product of civil aviation aircraft, the Sukhoi Superjet 100, a medium-range aircraft that can accommodate up to 95 passengers.

Moreover, the two ministers discussed bilateral civil aviation sector cooperation and ways to enhance transportation agreements especially in light of the predicted 3 million Russian tourist visits to Egypt this year.

Furthermore, Kamal presented investment opportunities available for the Russian sector to participate in within the Airport City project.

Manturov outlined his country’s interest in the Egyptian market, and in reinforcing Russian investments in available Egyptian projects. He further expressed his desire to transfer Russian expertise to Egypt as well as offering finance through the Russian Direct Investments Fund.

Russia has formed one of Egypt’s largest tourism markets over the past years, while Egypt is looking forward to promote the tourism sector, seeking 12 million tourists by the end of the year.
