An earthquake measuring 6 on the Richter Scale was felt in Cairo and several other cities across Egypt on Saturday afternoon.
The earthquake’s epicentre was located in the Gulf of Aqaba, around 450 km east of Cairo, state media reported, highlighting the area’s active fault line.
No losses or damage was recorded was recorded as a result.
The earthquake occurred at around 5:30pm, and was felt in Cairo and different cities across the country.
The Ministry of Health confirmed in a statement that no casualties or injuries were reported as a result.
