The Al-Wafd Party issued calls for renewing the “mandate” to President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, the army and the police to fight terrorism, through a document entitled “We’re all Egypt”.

Party head El-Sayed El-Badawi said in a statement on Saturday that the document calls for “alignment in support of all the state institutions in the fight against terrorism”.
The document, according to El-Badawi, does not represent one party, as he said it is for all political factions, media, NGOs and citizens to support.
The document reads: “We, the undersigned of this document, testify that we are continuing our mandate, which the people gave on 26/7/2013 to president of the republic, the brave men of the armed forces, the heroes of police and all the state institutions in the fight against terrorism.”
President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, then defence minister, called in July 2013 for citizens to take the streets to mandate the army and police in their fight against “violence and terrorism”.
Thousands of demonstrators gathered in Cairo’s iconic Tahrir Square on 26 July in response to Al-Sisi’s call, inaugurating a heavy security crackdown that targeted Islamist opposition and militants, and in many cases other oppositional forces.
