Raya Trade is considering contracting with the Chinese group Haier to distribute its products on the local market through Raya’s branches, which amount to over 85 branches nationwide.

Bassem Megahed, CEO of Raya Trade which is owned by Raya Holdings, said that Haier has the biggest share in the refrigerator market worldwide, and their product prices are suitable for local consumers.

Megahed pointed out that Raya has increased its distribution network by 60% in the market. This is in the framework of Raya’s target plan for the current year, in addition to developing and improving the distribution service and after sales services for Raya customers.

He added that Raya Trade has over 8,000 indirect sale points for wholesale and retail, as well as its partners, whether mobile phone or electronic device distributors. Raya also has 6,000 food sale points and serves 500,000 customers per year in after sales services.

Megahed also added that the Raya Mega Stores branch in Nasr City was opened with investments exceeding EGP 4m, and covers an area of approximately 700 sqm.

He said the main reason for opening Raya Mega Stores branches is to enable customers to purchase all their electronic devices in just one visit to the store. The branches are very flexible in the methods of payment, whether cash, credit cards, or monthly instalments. The branches also have all the technological products from mobile phones and advanced electronic devices to home devices.

Megahed said that Raya Trade has launched its direct instalment programme, which enables consumers to purchase their electronic devices through instalment programmes that fit all customers. He added that this service has strongly contributed in the increase of the company’s sales and thus its revenues.
