One conscript was killed Wednesday when gunmen in a car opened fire on the guards of the Niger embassy in Giza, according to the interior ministry’s spokesman in a Wednesday statement.
Two other conscripts and an embassy worker were injured, and are currently being hospitalised.
The ministry said it is intensifying its efforts to capture the assailants
Security forces have been targeted since the ouster of former president Mohamed Morsi in 2013. The highest level of insurgent activities was witnessed in the restive Sinai Peninsula, followed by Greater Cairo and other governorates.
