007 fans can hardly wait for the new James Bond movie later this year. Rumors are abounding over the title song – which has already been recorded. DW looks at previous theme song hits. They’re tough acts to follow.
On Tuesday (28.07.2015), singer Ellie Goulding posted a photo on Instagram of her leaving the famous Abbey Road Studios in London. Her comment: “It’s a wrap.” The enigmatic post has sparked a frenzy of speculation: Could she have recorded the new theme song to the upcoming James Bond film, “Spectre,” due to premiere in late October 2015?

Feeding the rumors is a tweet Goulding posted on July 9 with a clear reference the 1973 Bond film.

“Spectre” features Daniel Craig as super spy 007 and will hit cinemas around the world on November 6.

Apart from Goulding, chart-topping UK artists Sam Smith and Ed Sheeran are also considered possible candidates for the title song.
