A year without a clay-court title is pretty much unthinkable for former world number one Rafael Nadal of Spain. And he’s well on his way to victory at the ATP event in Hamburg with an easy semi-final win.
Rafael Nadal has yet to win on clay in 2015 – an amazing fact considering that he’s the best player in history on that surface and has a title streak that dates to 2004.

But the Mallorcan looks a good bet to keep his run going after destroying Italy’s Andreas Seppi 6-1, 6-2 in Saturday’s late semifinal. Nadal double-faulted on his first match point, but that was about the only mistake he made, closing out the match by breaking his opponent’s serve in the subsequent game.

Nadal won the ATP event in Hamburg in 2008 – the last time he played in the event.

He now faces Fabio Fognoni in the final. The Italian progressed after beating qualifier Lucas Pouille of France 6-2, 7-6.
