Despite the absence of ministers in the Real Estate summit, the attendance at the Cityscape conference was described as “unprecedented” by several exhibitors.
The lack of ministerial representation was attributed to the resent cabinet resignation. Former petroleum minister Sherif Ismail was appointed as the new Prime Minister and was requested to appoint a new cabinet within a week from the resignation.
These political events, however, did not influence the attendance rate at Cityscape, exhibitors argued. The gates were packed by the time the conference kicked off at 2 pm.
“Given the fact that ministers were a no show, the conference is still successful,” one of the exhibitors said.
“Eid is approaching, but visitors opted to show up and check out the newest real estate projects,” another exhibitor added.
Prior to the official launch of the event, Wouter Molman, the Director of Cityscape Group, told Daily News Egypt that Cityscape Egypt 2015 has grown by 15% this year, welcoming over 100 exhibitors and co-exhibitors.
Overall, the participation in Cityscape Egypt has grown and strengthened again this year.
“While it is true that a few developers did not manage to make it to the show this year, several new developers, including Better Home, Laguna Bay, Qatari Diar, Tabarak, Port Ghalib, Metawee Group and many others, are joining the event for the first time,” he added.
Among the projects presented in the conference were the Tabarak’s Ninety Avenue, La Nova Vista by La Vista real estate company, and Soma Breeze by Abu Soma Development company, among many others.
