Police killed in North Sinai attack

A senior officer at the Central Security Forces (CSF) was killed Wednesday evening in Al-Arish city in North Sinai, the Ministry of Interior said.

It added that unidentified gunmen shot at a security installment near Al-Arish police station, which resulted in a gunfire exchange, killing the officer.

An ongoing military operation known as “Retribution for the Martyr” entered its 11th day, including police and army troops. Six ‘terrorists’ were announced killed by the army on the Wednesday, as the previous week reportedly witnessed hundreds of killings and arrests.
