Al-Nour Party faced difficulties regarding the electoral list system in the four electoral districts of Greater Cairo, Upper Egypt, East Delta and West Delta.

The party is nominating only two lists in West Delta and Greater Cairo, while the remaining two districts are not being competed for by the party. The party said it would support the “For the Love of Egypt” list in East Delta as it is the only candidate. The party further declared that it will allow its members to decide which list to vote for in Upper Egypt.

Salah Abdel Maaboud, member of the supreme council of Al-Nour party, said the party’s members and bases in governorates will not annul their votes in the lists system in Upper Egypt and East Delta. He noted that the party announced in a previous statement that its intention is to participate, not simply to beat other candidates, which is why they withdrew from the lists for Upper Egypt and East Delta.

Shaaban Abdel Aliem, Assistant Secretary General of Al-Nour Party, confirmed that party members will not annul votes, and that its members in Upper Egypt are free to vote for their preferred list.
