Japanese cars succeeded in achieving sales of about EGP 7.8bn, acquiring 35.9% out of the market value, with a total of 36,700 cars, and representing 28.2% of the private car market in Egypt.
Nissan’s New Sunny topped the list through sales of about EGP 987m in the period between the beginning of the year and the end of August, registering 7,898 cars sold. The New Sunny is considered the most popular Japanese car in Egypt.
Following the New Sunny, the Mitsubishi Lancer recorded sales estimated at EGP 861m in the same period, taking second place with about 5,822 cars sold, while the Toyota Corolla came in the third on the list, achieving sales of EGP 1bn through sales of 5,052 cars.
