American-origin car sales amounted to EGP 2.5bn during the first eight months of the current year and 11.5% of the total sales value, which is EGP 21.7bn.
American-origin cars sold 16,900 units out of total sales of 130,000 units to acquire the highest ratio of total cars sold, 13%.
Chevrolet Aveo topped the list of American cars, where 5,713 cars were sold worth EGP 612m.
Lanos came in second place, selling 5,276 units worth EGP 440m. In the third place came Chevrolet Optra, which sold 1,994 cars for about EGP 241m.
