The Egyptian Exchange (EGX), in cooperation with the Chamber of Information Technology and Telecommunications (CIT), held a workshop on Thursday with the participation of a number of companies operating in the field of IT and telecommunications.

The aimed to encourage the companies to be listed and offered on the Nile Stock Exchange, especially small and medium-sized companies, as well as in the major stock market.

EGX said in a press release that the workshop focused on the funding opportunities provided by the Egyptian stock market, in addition to the facilitations that attract local and foreign investments to the companies, whether they are medium, small, or large-sized.

The meeting reviewed the growth opportunities that can be available by listing in the stock market, whether the increase in capitals, or the issuing of bonds, as well as other advantages such as the daily pricing for the company’s value. Opportunities to involve new partners can be available as well, which can contribute to increasing the business size, and consequently profits.

Chairman of EGX Mohamed Omran said the cooperation with CIT comes within the EGX’s approach of getting close to the business community, as the EGX administration seeks to spread awareness among companies to benefit from the opportunities provided by EGX.

Omran added that EGX mainly helps companies to expand and grow by allowing the required funds to flow. He asserted that the IT sector is one of the promising sectors in the Egyptian economy, and can achieve a tangible economic leap if the opportunities are sought after.

He explained also that the Nile Stock Exchange allows a suitable climate for promising companies to achieve high growth rates, as the companies will be opened to local and foreign investments willing to catch the opportunities available by promising companies.
