Minister of Interior Magdy Abdel Ghaffar held a meeting Monday with his top officers to review security plans to secure the second round of the parliamentary elections due for 22 and 23 November.

Abdel Ghaffar said the role of the ministry is confronting security challenges and that the parliamentary elections are a national requirement which should be fulfilled. Police are cooperating with the army to enforce all security measures in the governorates.

He highlighted the importance of preemptive strikes in aiming to intensify security campaigns on criminal elements and coordination among all relevant agencies, and to balance between enforcing the law and human rights, according to a ministry statement.
