Dozens of graduated students from Nursing Institutes protested in Qasr Al-Aini Street for being unable to obtain governmental employment on Monday.

The students called on the state to allow them to work in governmental medical institutions, a video released on Itfarrag Facebook page revealed. The students previously complained to the Prosecutor General and were promised possible solutions.

The security forces dispersed the demonstration when the students blocked the road for more than half an hour. Two armoured vehicles were already stationed at the side streets around the Qasr Al-Aini area to stop any potential clashes.

Security forces arrested a large number of the demonstrators and investigated 10 of them. The 10 students are supposed to be sent to national security for investigation on Monday.

In the governorate of Sharqeya, secondary level students protested in the presence of their parents on Sunday to express their rejection for their governor Reda Abdel Salam’s decision to close all private lessons centres available there.

The students described the governor’s decision as a “threat for their future” since they relied on private lessons since the beginning of the year.

Early in November, Abdel Salam declared closing all private lessons centres in Sharaqeya and ordered that teachers pay EGP 50,000 as a fine for giving private lessons. He made his decision in his meeting with the deputy Minister of Education and the educational administration directors.
