Annual inflation increased by 10.3% in October

The monthly inflation rate increased by 2.3% during October compared to September, the Central Agency for Public Mobilisation and Statistics (CAPMAS) stated on Tuesday.

In October, 176.2 points were registered compared to 172.2 points registered in September, which is an increase of 2.8% in the monthly inflation rate during the month of September.

The annual inflation rate increased by 10.3% in October 2015, compared to October 2014, CAPMAS reported.

The price of food and beverages rose in October by 2.6% with 208.8 points compared to 203.4 points in the previous month, which is a 12.9% annual increase.

The report said the inflation rate rose to 10.4% during the period from January to October 2015, in comparison to the corresponding period last year.

In rural areas, the inflation rate rose by 2.5% in October registered at 180.7 points in comparison with the previous month registered at 176.3 points.

The inflation rates continue to increase as previous reports showed that the inflation rate increased by 2.8% over September 2015 compared to August 2015.
