Users of imageboard website 4Chan have launched their own comedic fight against ‘Islamic State’ (IS). Images of IS militants have been replaced with the faces of rubber ducks and their guns with toilet brushes.
The online campaign gained momentum after a member of the site posted a message, calling on fellow users to edit images of the jihadi militant group.
“How about castrating the image of [IS] by replacing the faces on all the propaganda photos with bath ducks[?]” the member suggested.
In the following days, social media users responded in good humour, with some of them replacing the text on the group’s infamous flag with the words “duck duck duck duck duck duck duck duck duck duck duck”.
The photoshopped images have been collected on Imgur under the album title “Create the Duck State”.
