The Ministry of Interior announced Friday that the Giza nightclub attack was due to “disputes between workers in the club”, which led the perpetrators to throw Molotov cocktails on the building.

The nightclub is in the populated neighbourhood of Agouza. The Friday morning attack killed 16 people and injured three.

The ministry added that forces are intensifying efforts to arrest the perpetrators.

Five women were among those killed in the attack, according to media reports.
