French-Dutch airline group Air France-KLM has reported a tangible drop in November revenues as a result of the Paris terror attacks. But the carrier hoped things would return to normal until the end of the year.

Air France-KLM said Tuesday the November 13th terror attacks in Paris had significantly impacted overall traffic to and from the French capital.

“The negative impact of the Paris attacks on total November revenues is estimated to be around 50 million euros ($54 million),” it said in its monthly traffic update.

But Air France-KLM said it was hopeful the negative effect of the terror attacks would wear off by the end of December.

Recovery in sight

“Current booking trends are in line with a progressive recovery, including a very limited impact on volume after the end of December 2015,” it said in a statement.

The airline’s report reflected the experience made by Paris hotels and shops, which booked a sharp decline in business immediately after the attacks, with things now slowly returning to normal.

Tourism accounts for some 7 percent of gross domestic product in France, the world’s top tourist destination. There had been massive fears in the country that the terror attacks could weaken the nation’s already anemic growth.
