Explosives were suspected to be present in some of the buildings in the City Stars complex, and visitors were advised to evacuate the buildings for their safety.
Some of the administrative buildings in the complex were evacuated. However the shopping centre was operating normally, an eyewitness in City Stars told Daily News Egypt.
Bomb threats have been frequent, with several occurring in various locations in the capital.
