Egypt’s Immigration Minister Nabila Aboul Shaheed is heading to Italy on Tuesday to visit migrant camps hosting Egyptian minors who travelled illegally to Europe by crossing the Mediterranean Sea.
She will be accompanied by representatives of the Interior Ministry, the Supreme Commission Against Illegal Immigration and the National Council for Motherhood and Childhood, to oversee the increasing number of Egyptian minors who travel illegally to Europe.
“The coast guard is not enough,” Makram said. She added that an integrated plan to curb illegal immigration will be implemented in cooperation with European countries.
